Reduce, reuse, recycle…

I’m on my third or fourth cycle with these re-usable towels. I just need to get into the habit of cold water washing before putting on a warm wash! New habits take time to master. I’m definitely not a fan of tampons or mooncups, so these re-usable period towels are the bomb diggity, for me! Also, I stopped using cotton wool 18 months ago and use muslin and bamboo cloths instead… we are thinking of switching to those for wee wees instead of toilet paper too. Every little habit change helps. Being experimental and learning from failure is how we move forward and make real change happen. Perfection is a dirty word in our household.

My New Year’s resolution for 2020 looks set to be stopping buying brand new clothes. Up-cycling old clothes is on the tarot card deck. I’m good at repairing buttons and holes in things that I love. I’ve got an old leather Boden bag that needs up-cycling too. Standing on the shoulders of giants like Greta Thunberg to eradicate greed and over-consumption is a good way-in to solving the world’s problems.
