I should be reading books about hypno-birthing, breast-feeding and being a mother… Instead I read ‘The Cows’ by Dawn O’Porter. It was hilairyous!

It was delicious reading. I couldn’t help but reminisce about time spent with Kathy Lette as a teenager, yes because of the familiarity in frequency of projectile tea-spitting laughs, and not just because the name of the book has an uncanny resemblance to ‘Mad Cows.’ I also felt like I was in a world that was created by the female version of Tom Robbins. I hearted The Cows. O’Porter’s homework for everybody is that weird is wonderful – time well spent (better than reading about what will happen to my vagina on or around the Spring Equinox 2019 that’s for f**king sure!).

I also read ‘Dancing with the Moon‘ by Emma Despres:

I left a review that doesn’t do the book justice. Emma lives in Guernsey and teaches yoga. I went along to her closing/opening sessions at the end of 2017 and the start of this year. I set up a little altar afterwards, using beach rocks, crystals, a little silver anchor and I have added to my little divine pyre over the year during mindful, meditative walks along the beach. My little altar, has a family of rocks – the crystals and  pendant silver anchor serve my mantra to ‘ always anchor us with love’.  And I’m 29 weeks pregnant because of the steps I took late last year, through choosing reiki, yoga, hypnosis, a cleansing retreat and a digestive health programme – very lucky and grateful to have amazing, gifted and spiritually tuned-in teachers in Guernsey to light the way. And I acknowledge my power, an equal partner, to dig deep, do the work and show up for myself.
